Obituary for Elaine Wiederholt

Elaine M. Wiederholt, 75, of Le Mars passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at Happy Siesta Care Center in Remsen, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. Dr. Jean Ziettlow will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the family present from 5- 7 and a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Mauer- Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. There will be an hour visitation prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Elaine May Wiederholt was born on January 21, 1941 to Harry and Meta (Frerichs) Siebels in Le Mars, Iowa. She attended Le Mars High School. On January 21, 1961 Elaine and Bernard Wiederholt were united in marriage in Remsen. In early years, Elaine worked at the Gerdes Pharmacy. She enjoyed pleasant weather, country music, and having weekly coffee with her lady friends of Le Mars. She also collected Precious Moment figurines. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars and enjoyed teaching Sunday School.

She will be lovingly remembered by a son, Doug Weiderholt of Le Mars, IA; brother- in- law, Darrell Roepke of Hinton, IA; sister- in- law, Rita Wiederholt of Le Mars, IA ; special family friends, Jack and LaVon Holton of Merrill, IA and Tom & Connie Marcotte of Le Mars, IA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; two sisters, Lucille Ludwigs and Charline Roepke.
