AKRON, Iowa - Carrie V. Bohlen, 91, of Akron died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Akron City Convalescent Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, with the Rev. William Kallestad of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bohlen was born June 8, 1907, in Breckenridge, Mo., the daughter of Hiram Issac and Cora Anna ) Kelley. She attended school in Breckenridge, graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1927. She moved to Iowa in 1928.
She married William H. "Bill" Bohlen on April 24, 1932, in rural Merrill, Iowa. He died Nov. 21, 1995.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church E.L.C.A. in Akron.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Virginia and the Rev. Willie Foote of Decatur, Ga.; a brother, Charles Kelley Union Star, Mo.; three grandsons, David, Dale and Daryl Foote; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Claude Kelley; and four sisters, Vera May Kelley, Ethel Devers, Doris Oaks and Harriet Ball Sawnson.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews, David, Dale and Daryl Foote, Allen Berg, Don Conry and Gene Egdorf.
