Carole was born to Phyllis (Tiffany) Lewis and the late Dr. Harvard R.Lewis on August 5, 1945 in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Mitchell High School, Mitchell, South Dakota in 1963 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Sociology from Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD in 1967. Carole met the love of her life, Ken Wilson, while attending college. They were united in marriage on December 17, 1966 in Mitchell, SD. They made their home in Aberdeen, SD for a short time before moving to Mitchell, SD and later moved to Huron, SD. Through the moves the couple gave birth to four healthy children. The family settled in Le Mars and raised their family. She was volunteered in the community they lived as well the church they attended. Regardless the city or state, she was eager to volunteer for worthy causes and lend a hand. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was inducted into the same chapter of P.E.O. that her mother and grandmother were in at the age of 23 in Mitchell, SD. She also volunteered her time to PACT, wrote the monthly newsletter at the Presbyterian Church for a number of years, was on the board of directors for the Christian Needs Center and made donations to her favorite charities and organizations. She had worked and volunteered with CSADV in Woodbury County for a number of years. When she wasn't curled up with a good book and a pet on her lap, Carole could usually be found outside in the sun. Gardening was one of her favorite warm weather activities. Her talent for cooking and baking were also known by many and always appreciated by her hungry family. Carole will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
