Aneta Ledgerwood, 96, of Le Mars passed away Friday, August 27, 2010 at her home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church, Le Mars, Iowa with Reverend Tim Geitz officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitations will be after 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 6:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers will be Floyd Fiedler, Jeff Brown, Justin Fiedler, Zach Fiedler, Coleton Brown, Tom Magnuson, David Lenninger, and Jesse Kellen.

Aneta Porsch was born September 14, 1913 on the family farm rural Hinton, Iowa to Thomas and Helena (Schwartz) Porsch. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, Iowa. She attended and graduated from high school in Moville, Iowa. Following high school, Aneta attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake, Iowa where she received her teaching certificate. She taught country school for several years. She was united in marriage to Guy Ledgerwood on May 28, 1934. Guy and Aneta farmed near Kingsley until the mid 1960's when they converted part of the farm to a golf course, known as Brookside Golf Course. They operated the golf course until 1974. Aneta and Guy also operated Ledgerwood Tile and Ditching and Midwest Laminations in Kingsley. When the couple retired, they moved to Le Mars. Guy passed away in May of 1991.

Aneta will be remembered for her generosity and kindness. She and Guy were very supportive of family and extended family. She loved children and would often say, "there are no bad ones". She loved to play with the grandchildren and later the great grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Schera Kraft of Le Mars; 3 grandchildren and families: Deborah Fiedler and her husband Floyd of Le Mars and their children Heather Fiedler and her friend David Lenninger and their family Tresa, Chance, and Kyra, Justin Fiedler and his wife Stacie and their family Justine, Riley, and Jashua, and Zachary Fiedler and Ashley Marks, Terri Brown and her husband Jeff of Le Mars and their family Coleton and Sydney Brown, and Brad Kraft and his wife Staci of Le Mars and their family Danielle Magnuson and her husband Tom and Brandon Kraft; 2 nephews, Bill Wilson of Kingsley and Ralph Wilson of Sioux City; and a niece, Juanita "Sis" Arnes of Montgomery, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Helena (Schwartz) Porsch; husband, Guy Ledgerwood; a son-in-law, Richard Kraft; 2 brothers, Bill Porsch and Herman Porsch; 2 sisters, Frieda Roepke and Edna Harrison; 3 nephews, Marvin, Marlin, and Earl Wilson.
