LE MARS, Iowa - Barbara "Barb" Ann Hansen, 35, of Le Mars died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Hansen was born May 6, 1962, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clifford and Phyllis (Hanson) Monroe. She had lived in South Sioux City and California, before moving with her family to Le Mars. She attended school in Le Mars, graduating from Le Mars Community High School in 1980.
She married Dennie Hansen on May 2, 1980, in Remsen, Iowa. The couple made their home in Le Mars. She was employed at various positions with K-Products in Marcus, Iowa for 15 years.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she attended the Rebekah Circle. She enjoyed the activites of the Le Mars Volunteer Fire Department, camping and reading.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Malinda, Amanda and Jason, all at home; her parents of Le Mars; a brother and his wife, Brian and Jill Monroe of Dallas, Texas; her mother and father-in-law, Dale and Darlene Hansen of Remsen; a brother-in-law and his wife, Doug and Tammy Hansen of Storm Lake, Iowa; a sister-in-law and her husband, Deb and Tom Farnsworth of Madison, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Catherine and Lawrence Monroe; and her maternal grandparents, Glen and Kundie Hanson.
Pallbearers will be Mike Feller, Dean Maass, Bill Theisen, Levon Erickson, Tony Flewelling, and Robert Rieedemann.
