Died: 1979James Holzman, 26, of Alton, died Friday at the residence.
Services were held Monday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Reverend Mervin Hood officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery with the Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen in charge.
Mr. Holzman was born June 19, 1952 in Le Mars. He was employed by the Alton Lumber Company. He was graduated from Spalding High School at Granville in 1970. He entered Northwest Iowa Technical College at Sheldon, and completed a carpentry course in 1971.
He was vice president of the Alton Jaycees, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters at Alton and the Knights of Columbus at Granville. He was a member of St. Mary Church and sang in the choir.
Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Holzman of Alton; three brothers, Gary of Remsen, David of Jacksonville, Florida and Kevin, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Debra) Dunn of Aurelia, Mrs. Dave (Jane) List of Granville, and Beth and Anita, both at home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Holzman of Le Mars; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Vaske of Remsen.
