Bertha Schoenrock

Mrs. Leonard (Bertha) Schoenrock, 95, of Le Mars died Tuesday (April 27, 1982) at Brentwood Care Center in Le Mars after a long illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John’s American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. David Kramer will officiate. Burial will be in the Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Mauer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Schoenrock, the former Bertha Onken, was born Oct. 1, 1886, in Grant Township, Plymouth County, rural Le Mars to John D. and Henrietta Dirks Onken, and was a lifelong county resident.

She married Leonard Schoenrock June 23, 1915, rural Le Mars. Thy moved to town in 1940. He died in 1943.

Mrs. Schoenrock was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the ALCW.

Survivors are nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Onno and Fred Onken; three sisters, Katherin Siebens, Mary Janicke and Sophie Fischer.
