This family varies on the spelling of the last name Jurgensen or Jurgenson in obituaries and at Find-a-Grave.

Shirley Ann (Jurgenson) Johnson, 61, of Longmont, Colo.; formerly of Akron, Iowa died Monday, October 18, 1999, at Boulder Community Hospital in Boulder, Colo., following a two year illness.

Services were held Friday, October 22, 1999 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont with the Reverend Kent Schnegelberger officiating. Burial was in Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.

Mrs. Johnson was born February 3, 1938 at rural Akron, the daughter of William and Laura (Klemme) Jurgenson. She graduated from Akron High School in 1956. She married William Johnson in 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron. They had made their home at Longmont for the past 10 years.

Mrs. Johnson was a home-maker. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and their wives, Rick and Shawn of Dallas, Texas, Jeffrey and Sally of Boulder, and Brent and Elizabeth in Texas, where he is serving in the U.S. Army; four granddaughters; four sisters, Bernice Grosenheider of rural Le Mars, Iowa, Leona Hartman of Richmond, Calif., LaVonne Baack of Le Mars, and Marlene Eichacker of Arvada, Colo.; one brother, Robert Jurgenson of Sioux City; one sister-in-law, Ruth Jurgenson of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.
