DEATH COMES TO MRS. A. L. JURGENSON
Rites Held Tuesday At Sioux Falls For Former Resident
Mrs. Andrew L. Jurgennsen, 56, who had resided on a farm five miles east of Sioux Fall since 1940, died at a hospital there Friday afternoon, April 25, after a five-week illness.
Funeral services were held at the Banton Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. G. H. Steffen officiating. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery there.
Spending most of her life in the Akron, Ia., vicinity, Anna Martsfield was born there October 4, 1895. After her marriage to Mr. Jurgensen on November 6, 1912, she and her husband farmed in the Akron vicinity until 1935 when they moved to a farm near Hudson. They located at Sioux Falls five years later.
Mrs. Jurgensen attended the Faith Lutheran Church.
Survivors are her widower; three sons, Arval, Akron; Orlan, Brandon; and Lowell, Beresford; three daughters, Mrs. LaVia Cranlett, Ellen ad Janiece, Sioux Falls; three brothers, Henry Martsfield, Redfield; Chris Martsfield Sale, Ore., and Newton Martsfield, Alabama; five sisters, Mrs. Lena Harris, Spearfish; Mrs. Marie Rust, Canton; Mrs. Helen Vockrodt, Hazel; Mrs. Adele Louison, Denver; and Mrs. Louise Bernier, San Bernardino, Calif., and 11 grandchildren.
A number of Akron relatives and friends attended the funeral services at Sioux Falls.
