Note: The name Jurgensen varies as Jurgenson sometimes between the obituaries of different family members. Her mother's maiden name is Fiebing.

One of the saddest deaths it has been the duty of this paper to chronicle in a long time is that of Mrs. Henry Jurgensen, who passed away at the Akron Hospital at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 1926, following an illness of less than a week. She was taken sick on Thursday of last week and entered the hospital Saturday, where she was operated upon for ruptured appendix, but the infection had progressed too far and she could not long survive. She was an intense sufferer for several days, but this she bore with Christian fortitude and patience.

Antke Maria Jurgensen (nee Von Hagel) wife of Henry Jurgensen, was born February 26, 1888, in Grant Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, where she was baptized in the Lutheran church March 23, 1902, and was later confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron.

On June 19, 1905, she was united in marriage with Henry Jurgensen and seven children, five sons and two daughters, came to bless their union. Two sons died in infancy. Mr. and Ms. Jurgensen have lived on a farm east of here during all their married life. A woman strongly devoted to family and home, a kind and helpful neighbor and a valued friend, her untimely taking away will be widely and sincerely mourned.

Besides the bereaved husband five children—Andrew, Elma, Clifford, Alvin, and Baby Phyllis—she is survived by her parents. Mrs. and Mrs. Albert Von Hagel, and four brothers and two sisters—Gert J. Von Hagel, Mrs. Henry Hitzeman, Albert, John, Anna and George Von Hagel, all of Akron and vicinity.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Von Hagel home and 2:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. F. A. Meske. There was a large attendance at the services and the final offerings were many and beautiful. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.
