Services Held Oct. 5 For Kenneth Carel
Mr. Kenneth William Carel, of Kingsley, Ia., passed away Monday evening, October 2, 1967, as the result of a truck accident at a road intersection in Union Township. At the time of his death he was 36 years, 1 month, and 16 days.
Funeral services for Mr. Carel were held Thursday, October 5, 1967, at 9 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley. Rev. Father Raymond Welling and Father Lloyd Carel officiated. Pat, Mike, and Timothy Timmins served as acolytes. Interment was in the St. Michael’s cemetery, Kingsey.
Honorary casket bearers were Lloyd Cornish, Wyman March, John Swanberg, Gregg Faetherston, Wally Teska and Howard Page.
Active casket bearers were Neill Netizke, Bernard Cle, Jack Swanbeg, Vincent McDermott.
Mr. Carel, the son of L. W. and Ethel (Banks) Carel, was born August 16, 1931, at Le Mars, Iowa. He graduated from Kingsley High School in 19948, and later was in the armed forces during the Korean War. On July 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marie Ann McDermott at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kingsley. He worked for many years as a silo builder for Page’s Lumber Company. A resident of Kingsley his entire life, he was an active member of St. Michaels’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Clmbus, and American Legion.
He is survived by his widow, Marie; a son Kenneth, at home; two daughters, Teresa and Tracy, at home; two sisters; Miss Bonnie Carel and Maxine (Mrs. J. J. Borges), both of North Miami, Florida, and his parents, M. and Mrs. Leo Carel.
