Miss Sarah Mahaney, aged 77, died at the home of her brother-in-law, George Jensen, in Sioux City, Sunday night. Miss Mahaney had been living with her brother, William Mahaney, in Sioux City since last September. Her death occurred suddenly while she was visiting at the home of her sister. She had been ailing for some time but was not confined to the house.

Miss Mahaney was a pioneer resident of Plymouth County and for many years made her home with Mrs. Anna Kain, of this city, and for a number of years kept house for her brother, when he was left a widower.

The deceased was born in Whiteside County, Illinois, near Morrison July 17, 1846, and came with relatives to Le Mars in 1878. She is survived by her brother William Mahaney, and three sisters, Mrs. George Jensen, of Sioux City; Mrs. Anna Kain, of Le Mars, and Mrs. Mary Cummings of White Rock, Utah.

The deceased had a wide acquaintance in Le Mars and Sioux City, and was greatly esteemed by a large circle of friends and neighbors.

The funeral will be held in Sioux City but arrangements for the services had not been completed yesterday.
