Mrs. Nicholson, Widely Known Resident, dies

Came to Plymouth County When a Child and Lived In Community Since

Mrs. Nicholson, wife of William Nicholson, well known farmer of Elgin township, died at the Sacred Heart Hospital in this city, Sunday morning, Mrs, Nicholson had been failing in health for a year and a half and ten days ago her condition became critical.

Mary E. Moran was born at Elkader, Iowa, November 26, 1875, and came to Le Mars when two years old with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Moran, who settled in Sioux county. Mrs. Nicholson lived in this vicinity the rest of her life. She was united in marriage with William Nicholson December 12, 1894.

Her death is mourned by her husband, four sons and six daughters, Mrs. L. E. Becker, Ireton; Mrs.J. C. Rosberg, Hinton; Mrs. Verne Keough, LeMars; Mrs. Emil Mueller, Mrs. Chester McDougall, and Miss Evelyn Nicholson, Benjamin, William and Don, of Struble, and Richard, of LeMars. Two daughters preceded her in death, Elizabeth at the age of three, and Mrs. Lorenz Bertram, who died two years ago. She is survived by her two brothers, P. J. Moran, of Struble, John Moran, Ellsworth, and a sister, Mrs. Hugh McDonald, Pueblo, Colorado.

The funeral will he held Wednesday morning at St. James church at 9:30 with Rev. L. J. Cooper officiating, and interment made in St. James cemetery, LeMars.

Mrs. Nicholson was widely known in the community, where she lived all her life, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.
