Died.

Mrs. Anna Aalfs died Thursday at 7 o'clock at her home on the corner of Floyd and Second street, after a brief illness, the cause of her death being pneumonia. The deceased was born in Holland in May, 1847, her maiden name was Anna Postema and she was united in marriage in 1870 with Mr. John Aalfs. They came to the United States in 1883. coming directly to this place, and making it their home. Besides the bereaved husband six children are left to mourn the loss of a loving mother's care. They are Jacob, residing near Akron, Mrs. DeYong, of Maurice, Mrs. E. Vanderberg, of Sioux Center, and Nittert, of the firm of Hagen & Aalfs, Emma and John, who reside at home.

Mrs. Aalfs was an estimable, upright Christian woman, who had gained for herself the regard and respect or all with whom she way acquainted, and a better and a kindlier neighbor never lived. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the bereaved father and children.

The funeral services took place on Saturday at 1 p. in. at the Holland Reform church and Rev. Menning preaching the funeral sermon.
