Former LeMars Woman Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Henry G. (Pearl) Barkl of 4424 Perry Way, Sioux City, Iowa, passed away at the Lutheran hospital in Sioux City on Tuesday, September 20. Mrs. Barkl had been ailing for the past year.
Pearl McDougall was born near Struble on August 9, 1887, the daughter of James and Martha McDougall and at the time of her death as 62 years 1 month and 11 days of age. She lived on a farm near Struble while a young girl and has since that time been in Sioux City.
Pearl McDougall was married to Henry G. Barkl in Sioux City. she has been employed as saleswoman by the Martin department store for the past 27 years. She was a member of the Rose Croix chapter Eastern Star, While Shrine in Sioux City and was also as member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23 at the Mauer funeral home in LeMars at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. George Dunn of Sioux city officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
Survivors include the husband, H G Barkl of Sioux City, two sisters Miss Mary McDougall and Mrs Frank Glaser (Hattie) both of LeMars; brothers, John J McDougall of Struble, Chester H McDougall of LeMars and E. J. McDougall of Sioux City.
Her parents and a sister, Mrs,. Laura Edwards preceded her in death. Six nephews of the deceased will act as pall bearers.
