Donald H. Harms
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Luken-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars for Donald H. Harms, 54, rural Linn Grove, Iowa, a Le Mars native.
Mr. Harms died Thursday morning at St. Vincent hospital, Sioux City, of injuries suffered Jan. 11 in a 2-car accident near Rossie, Iowa. At the time of the accident he was taken to a Spencer hospital and within a few hours was transferred to the Sioux City hospital.
He was born 15, 1917 at Le Mars, the son of John and Katharina Rewerts Harms. July 24, 1944 he was united in marriage with Mabel Roger in Le Mars.
Survivors are his wife, Mabel, Linn Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Allan (Mary Ellen) Snyder, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; Mrs. Gordon (Donna Jean) Wilken, Cherokee; Karen Kay at home; three sons, Edwin, Spencer; Larry Eugene at home; Roger Leo also at home. He is also survived by three brothers, Fred Harms, Le Mars, Clarence Harms, Hawarden and Alfred Harms, Le Mars; four sisters, Mrs. George (Kate) Carstensen, Merrill; Miss Hilda Harms, Le Mars;; Mrs. Metta Eiilers and Mrs. Hans (Theresa) Engel both of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Luken-Johnson funeral home in Le Mars for Donald Harms, 54, a Linn Grove farmer who died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital of injuries he suffered Jan. 11 in a 2-car crash about 2 miles west of Rossie. Rev. Russell Shilling of Royal will officiate and burial will be Christ Lutheran church cemetery, Grant Township. Friends may call at the Luken-Johnson funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
The Iowa highway patrol reported Mr. Harms was diving one of the autos and was northbound on a county road. Driver of the other car was identified by the patrol as Ruth Rognes, 53, Royal. She was westbound on another county road and the vehicles were in collision at a intersection, according to an investigating patrolman.
The obituary on Mr. Harms, a Le Mars native, was published in the Thursday Daily Sentinel.
The Harms family moved to Linn Grove 16 years ago. They are members of the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Royal.
