Jess Barnes

Jess Barnes, 94, Le Mars, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1993, at the Abbey in Le Mars.

Servicces were held at 1:30 p.. Saturday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial was in Rierside cemetery in Akron.

Mr. Barnes was born Nov. 26, 1898, in Jasper county, Missouri, the son of Chares and Hannah (Mann) Barnes. Mr. Barnes, who never married, worked for the city of Le Mars for several years before retiring.

Survivors include one sister, Addie Corder of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three nieces, Darlene and her husbad, La Verne Feller of Le Mars, Betty Dreeszen of Canto, S.D. and Dorothy and her husband, Art Talbott of Firmont, Minn.; and several gret nd great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents one broter, George Barnes; and two sisters, Mrs. Fay (Edna) Smith and Mrs. Leslie (Pearl) Smiith.
