Mrs. Catherine (sic Caroline) Pfaffle, mother of E. C. Pfaffle of this city, died at her home in Henry township last evening at six o’clock. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Globe, Friday, May 15, 1891, page 3

Also -- (SEE the corrected spelling of the surname, Pfaeffle, which is engraved on the tombstone.)

Mrs. Catherine (sic Caroline) Pfaffle, whose sudden death was mentioned Friday, died at the home of a son in Henry township. The remains were buried in the Henry township cemetery, Saturday, at 10 a.m. Mrs. Pfaffle was the wife of Albert Pfaffle and was born in December 1832. The family had just removed from Benton county to Henry township a few weeks ago and were preparing to make their home there. Mr. E. C. Pfaffle, of this place, went down to the funeral. NOTE: FURTHER RESEARCH reveals that her name engraved on the tombstone reads as: Caroline Pfaeffle.
She is buried in the Plymouth County, rural Henry Township cemetery aka Pleasant Hill cemetery.
Several years later, in 1908, her husband, Albert Pfaeffle, was buried in Pleasant Hill cemetery, also.
