Died. On the 12th inst at Lemars, Iowa, Della, the beloved wife of Joseph T. Luebke. Age 22 years. The circumstances surrounding the sudden death of the above named, is particularly sad. One child has already blessed the union, but the second died before the innocent being had seen the light of day. Dr. Gerisch has been attending the deceased for some time and had done everything that mortal man could do toward saving the life of the young mother, but it was willed otherwise and the end came soon after the delivery of a still-born child last Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Luebke was the sister of Mrs. R. Chester, and was well known and beloved by a large circle of friends. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon. The bereaved husband who is an employe in Chester’s cigar factory, has the sympathy of all. One little child two years old survives. - The Le Mars Globe, Wednesday, May 16, 1888, page 4, column 5
