LEORA LAUGHTON

Leora Laughton, 85, lifelong Plymouth County resident, died Tuesday evening, (Feb. 22, 1977) at Plymouth Manor in LeMars after an illness of several months. She had lived at Plymouth Manor five weeks.

She was born Jan. 20, 1892, in Plymouth county to George and Mary Hayden Laughton. Her home was at 825 3rd Ave. SE.

Leora was a longtime rural school teacher in Plymouth county. She was a member of the First United Methodist church, world war 1 barracks and senior citizens.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist church, with Rev. E.H. Staats officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are a son, Richard Laughton, LeMars; three grandchildren, Tom of LeMars, John of Lexington, Md., and Barbara Byrnes, Miami; five great-grandchildren and a brother Lloyd Laughton, rural LeMars.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
