Lois Tindall, 96, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Floyd Valley Health Care in Le Mars, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Le Mars Bible Church with Pastor Fred Gums and Pastor Mark Widman officiating.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Le Mars Bible Church followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service all at the church. Visitation will continue Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.
Memorials will be directed to the Plymouth County Chapter of Siouxland Youth for Christ and the Child Evangelism Fellowship.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Lindsay, Rich Lundt, Matt Widman, Jeremy Yoder, Andy Dougherty and Jeremy Long.
Lois Irene Kern was born December 29, 1919 at home in Le Mars, Iowa to William and Mary Ellen (Shoemaker) Kern. She received her education in Le Mars, graduating from Le Mars Central High School in 1938. She went on to continue her education at Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married Stanley Gordon Tindall on September 15, 1944, in Le Mars. Lois and Stanley farmed west of Le Mars until 1976 when they retired and moved to Le Mars. During their retirement, Lois and Stanley continued to help their daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Cecil, on the farm. Lois had worked at the Plymouth County Assessor’s Office for several years. Stanley passed away on July 6, 1984.
Lois enjoyed gardening and quilting throughout the years. She also was an avid reader; particularly studying her faith. She also enjoyed baking bread and cinnamon rolls. Lois and Stanley were charter members of the Le Mars Bible Church. Lois had taught Sunday school, Child Evangelism Good News Clubs in her home, was active in the Ladies group of LBC and also the mission work of the church. Later in life, Lois lead a Bible study at her home for older ladies of the church.
Survivors include her three daughters: Barbara Widman and her husband Bill of Salix, IA, Beverly Lindsay and her husband Paul of Wolverhampton, England, and Nancy Yoder of Le Mars; 11 grandchildren: Mark (Kara) Widman, Cami (Rich) Lundt, Matthew (Jodi) Widman, Cindi Widman, Scott (Emma) Lindsay, Heidi (Richard) Foster, Jamie (Amber) Lindsay, Jeremy (Sarah) Yoder, Christie (Andy) Dougherty, Cherie (Jon) Martin and Kala (Jeremy) Long; 35 great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Kale of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Mary White of Santa Clara, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Ellen (Shoemaker) Kern; her husband, Stanley; her sister, June Jennings; three brothers-in-law: George Jennings, Clyde Coppock and Adrian Kale; a son-in-law, Cecil Yoder; and a great granddaughter, Gracie Lundt.
