OBITUARY—GEORGE W. RAISH

George W. Raish, for many years a resident of Akron, passed away at Long Beach, California on Tuesday, April 16, 1929.

Funeral services were conducted at Long Beach, Saturday, April 20, and the remains placed in Angeles Abbey Mausoleum, Los Angeles.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara B. Raish, 2424 E. 7th Street, Long Beach, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Bollum, 35 Burlington Avenue, Billings, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. A. K. McClintock, Weed, Calif., and two brothers, Edward L. Raish, 1389 E. 95th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, and John W. Raish, Pierre, S. D.; also three grandchildren, Carl, Clara and June Bollum, Billings, Mont. Mr. Raish was a thirty-second degree Mason, carrying his membership in Billings, Mont., where he has made his home during the past ten years.

George W. Raish was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, April 28, 1866, being 62 years, 11 months, and 18 days old at the time of his death. He moved with his parents to Elk Point in 1875 and to Akron about seven years later. He attended school in Elk Point and Akron and then took a position in the lumber yard of his father, John N. Raish. On May 2, 1889, he was united in marriage to Miss Clara B. Chandler, also of Akron, and made their home here until 1910.

J. N. Raish disposed of his lumber business in 1898 to the Fullerton Lumber company, who retained George Raish as manager. A few years later he was promoted to the position of auditor and sent to North Dakota to establish a new line of years. He remained in the employ of the Fullerton Lumber company until he retired in 1924, since which time he has made his home in Billings, Mont., and Long Beach, Calif.

The funeral services were attended by many of the Akron friends now residing in Long Beach.

Members of the family attending the services: Mrs. Mabel Bollum and daughter, June, of Billings, Mont.; Mrs. Ida Nickel, of Tulare, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pierce, of Pasadena, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. A. K. McClintock, of Weed, Calif.
