MRS. CATHERINE SINGER DIES UNEXPECTEDLY; LAST RITES PLANNED

Mrs. Catherine Singer, 76, who made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Donald Diediker in Le Mars, died unexpectedly at the residence Monday afternoon.

She was born Sept. 20, 1889, at Remsen. Her marriage to Urban M. Singer took place Nov. 19, 1908, at Remsen.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic church in Le Mars. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home. Rev. Emmett Farrell will officiate.

Members of the Christian Mother's society will recite the rosary at 3 p.m. WEdnesday and the parish rosary will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are five sons and two daughters, Elmer, Melvin, Merlin, Mrs. Donald (Florence) Diediker and Mrs. Cleo (Viola) Hoffman, all of Le Mars; Verne of Hawarden and Urban of Monrovia, Calif.; 32 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Urban, in 1954, and by two sisters, Mrs. Mae VanderWal and Mrs. Emma VanderWal.
