Urban Singer Rites Held Monday; Was Resident 68 Years

Funeral services for Urban M. Singer, 69, longtime Le Mars resident who died Friday at Sacred Heart hospital after a long period of ill health, were at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiated and burial was in Calvary cemetrery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Mr. Singer was born May 25, 1884, at Kenosha, Wis. He came to Le Mars with his parents when he was one year old, and had lived here since that time. He married Catherine Bentz, Nov. 19, 1908, at Remsen.

Surviving are his wife, five sons, Melvin, Elmer, Urban Jr., Merlin and Vernon, all of Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Hoffman and Mrs. Donald Diediker, both of Le Mars, four brothers, Jsck of Des Moines, Clarence, Albert and Francis all of Le Mars; three sisters, Mrs. William Schultz of Kingsley; Mrs. Ben Byers of Hinton, and Miss Millie Singer of Le Mas and 28 grandchildren.
