Gladys M. Bauler

Gladys Mildred Pratt was born on November 4, 1909, in Elkhom Township, Kingsley, Iowa to John Oliver "Ollie" and Bertha Cliff Pratt, and she left this life suddenly at her home in Mesa, Arizona on December 27, 1991, at the age of 82. Burial was under the direction of Larry C. Melcher Mortuary.

Gladys grew up on her parent;s farm in the Kingsley area and attended Elkhorn Township grade school and graduated from the Union High School, where she was active in sports; girl's kitten ball and basketball.

She attended the little Country Church in the Union area, taught Sunday Svchool and also Bible School in the summer.

She married Sergie Bauler of Kingsley, and they lived in Sioux City. They both worked for Armour Packing Company. They were transferred to dodge City, Kansas by the compny. They also lived in Holbrook, Arizona before retiring in Mesa. She was a member of the Elks Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sergie, on March 9, 1980; her daughter, Shirley in August 1989; Two brothers, Merlin Pratt of Kingsley and Kenneth Pratt of Mesa, formerly of Hopkins and Minneapolis, Minn. area; one sister, Thelma, Mrs. Mervin Howe of Hotchkiss, Colo. and a brother and sister who died in infancy.

Survivors are one son, Jerry Bauler and a daughter-in-law, Lori of Mesa; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, one brother, Lester Pratt of Lawton, Iowa; 2 brothers-in-law, Francis Bauler of Kingsley and Mervin Howe of Hotchkiss, Colo.; 2 sisters-in-law, Myrtyle Pratt (Mrs. Kenneth Pratt) of Mesa, and Alice Pratt (Mrs. Merlin Pratt) of Kingsley; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
