Mike W. Bauler

Funeral services for Mike W. Bauler, 73, 4040 Adams St., Sioux City, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic church. Rev. Nichaolas J. Ruba will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael's cemetery at Kingsley, under direction of the Larkin funeral home of Sioux City. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Nash Post 140, American Legion of Kingsley. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bauler, a resident of Sioux City the last 28 years, died Monday evening at a Sioux City ospital after an illness of several months.

Mr. Bauler was born March 28, 1897, at Osmond, Neb. He moved to Oyens, at the age of 5. He farmed in Union township and he later owned a restaurant at Kingsley. He Married Elenora Madden Feb. 17, 1925, at Kingsley. The couple moved to Sioux City 28 years ago and he was employed at Taylor's Tap. A veteran of World War 1, he was a member of Sioux Valley Barracks 158, veterans of World War 1, and Nash Post 140, American Legion of Kingsley. He also was a member of St Michael's Catholic church and the Holy Name Society.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary in infancy and Ann Artfeld; three brothers, George, Henry, and Herman and his parents, Peter and Anna Treiwaller Bauler.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Don (Jeanette) Thoms of Le Mars; three grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Galles of Le Mars; and two brothers, Serge of Mesa, Ariz., and Francis of Remsen.
