Mrs. Harry (Lucrieca) Smith

Mrs. Harry Smith, 86, Akron, died Tuesday (May 28, 1983) in the Akron nursing home of a long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, in the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Her grandson, Rev. Richard Dowling of Marathon, Iowa officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron.

Pallbearers were Harold dowling, Richard Dowling, Philip Dowling, Dennis Bultman, Henry Anderson, and Ed Hartman.

Mrs. Smith, the former Lucieca Ellen James, was born August 4, 1896, at Missouri. She married Silas Dowling in 1914 at Logan, Iowa. She married Harry Smith in 1926 in Elk Point. He died in Mary 1964. She made her home in California with her son, James until moving back to Akron in 1978, where she resided in Ridgewood Apartments. The last 1 ½ years she has been a resident of the Akron nursing home. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Hugh Dowling, Akron and James Smith of Vallejo, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Viola Ord of Tucson, Ariz.; one brother, Perry of Onawa; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
