HERBERT BUEHRE CALLED BY DEATH LAST THURSDAY

Rites For Lifelong Local Farmer Are Held Saturday

Herbert Buehre departed this life at his home six miles east of town last Thursday morning, March 30, 1967, following an illness of a number of months, aged 72 years, 5 months and 14 days.

Herbert William Buehre was born at his family home, east of town, October 16, 1894. His parents were Otto F. and Sophia Buchre. He was baptized in infancy at the St. John (Preston) Lutheran Church. Later he was confirmed by Pastor Meyer at this same church.

On January 18, 1920, he was united in marriage with Miss Augusta Popken in Le Mars, Iowa. They became members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Akron. He was an active memberr at the time of his death.

He lived all his life on the family farm and was a well-liked member of his ocmmunity. Unassuming and friendly, at the same time he was ready always to do whatever he could to serve his family, neighborhood, and church.

Those who remain to mourn his departure are: his wife, Augusta; two sons, Eugene and Clyde, both of Sioux City; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild, besides other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rev. David J. Roy officiating, Mrs. Stuart Harris was vocalist and Mrs. Henning Shoulberg was organist. Casketbearers were Jack Wilken; Dennis Wilken, alvin Beeck, Walter Klemme, Erwin Klemme and Gordon Klemme. Burial in Riverside cemetery.
