Mrs. Blanche Burkeen Died in Sioux City

Sioux City Journal: Mrs. Blanche Burkeen, 64, died Saturday at a hospital after an illness of several weeks. She had been a Sioux City resident for the last 35 years.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Westcott-Doughty-Chandler Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph Steele, Jr., officiated and burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Mrs. Burkeen was born April 8, 1885, in Normandale, Canada. She was married to Elmer A. Burkeen January 27, 1924, in Elk Point, S. D.

Survivors include the widower and a brother, William Butler, the latter of Madison, S. D.

She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Gertrude Butler of Le Mars.
