RITES ARE HELD FOR MRS. B.J. BLUM FRIDAY MORNING

Esteemed Akron Woman Dies November 22 After A Brief Illness

As mentioned in this paper last week, Mrs. B. J. Blum passed away at her home in this city on Tuesday, November 20, 1851, following a brief illness of heart trouble, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 15 days.

Agnes Elizabeth McGinnis, daughter of Thomas and Alice McGinnis, was born in Canistota, South Dakota, April 6, 1886, and in early childhood moved with her parents to Luton, Iowa, and then to Akron. She was united in marriage with Bernard J. Blum on February 20, 1906, and their union was blessed with five sons and one daughter. They lived on farms southeast of town, until about seven years ago, when they moved to Akron.

Surviving are her husband, Bernard; five sons and one daughter Francis R., of Merrill; Gilbert T., of Remsen; Mrs. Rene (Bernice) LaCroix, of Sioux City; Bernell, of Watsonville, Calif., and Basil and Edmund, of Akron, and one sister, Mrs. Ann Rogers, of San Fernando, Calif.; also several grandchildren.

Mrs. Blum was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and of the women's societies of the church. Her pleasant, cheerful and friendly nature gained for her the esteem of all who knew her.

Funeral services were held last Friday morning at 9:00 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Rev. Father J. G. Skahill officiating. Acting as pallbearers were Francis C. Blum, Edwin Blum, John Henrich, Lawrence Gibbons., Henry Vanderham and Wendell Snow. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery.

Relatives attending from a distance were: Bernell Blum, of Watsonville, Calif.; Mrs.. Anna McGinnis, of Sioux Falls; Mrs. Walter McGinnis, of Dolton, S. D.; Pat McGinnis, of Montrose, S. D.; Bernell McGinnis, of Sioux Falls.
