Mrs. Lester Heyl

Mrs. Lester Heyl, 74, Akron, died Sunday (Oct. 12, 1980) in the Akron Hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Julian Swanson officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery under dierection of the Schroeder Funeral Home. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Marvin Mueller, officiating.

Pallbearers were Mike Smith Jerry Grimsley, Tom Grimsley, Ron Grimsley, Charles Hacker, and Crain Grimsley.

Mrs. Heyl, the former Wilma Herzig, was born April 19, 1906, in Chicago, Ill. She married Lester Heyl, Feb. 18, 1925, in Plymouth County, Iowa. The couple were lifelong Akron area farmers. She worked as a nurses aid at the Akron hospital and the nursing home for many years.

Survivors include nine daughters, Mrs. Lois Kosse of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Eldon (Bebe) Smith, Mrs. Bob (Mardge) Lisa, and Mrs. Larry (Carla) Vennard all of Akron; Mrs. Peter (Valda) Cosgrove of Lawton, Okla., Mrs. Robert (Mary) Wright of Milwaukee, Ore., Mrs. Gail (Janet) Grimsley of Sioux City, Mrs. Ed (Jo Ellen) Baack of Canyon City Ore., and Mrs. Dean (Cheryl) Gallangher of Elwood City Pa.; 34 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Lester, two sons, George Edward and an infant Lester Allen, one grandson, Blaine, one brother and one sister.
