Gareith Renken
Gareith Renken, 226 4th Street Northwest, Le Mars passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital; in Le Mars on Juy 24, 1963 after a sickness which lasted only two weeks. He had been hospitalized for a 4 days.
Mr. Renken was born March 14, 1886 in Grant Township, near Le Mars. He was a lifelong resident of Plymouth County having farmed for many years in Grant Township. The couple retired to Le Mars 17 years ago.
On February 8, 1907, he was married to Reaka Margretha Oetken at the Elgin Township home of her parents. His parents were the late Jurgen and Wilhelmina Berg Renken.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, at St. John's American Lutheran church in Le Mars, of which he was a member.
Rev. L. L. Belk will officiate and burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery under the directionof the Mauer Funeral Home.
Survivors include the widow, Reaka; children; Gareith renken Jr.; of Le Mars; Walter Renken, Le Mars. herman of Akron; William of Le Mars; Mrs. Ed (Luella) Hoppe of Le Mars. There are 15 grandchildren who survive and 3 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother George Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Oetken; Mrs. William Anna Gerrietts, Le Mars; Mrs. Conrand Gerrietts (Mary) and Mrs. Bertha Voss of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers an infant and John and Herman Renken and by one sister, emma Mrs. Fred Dirks.
