Note: She is buried in Merrill-Stanton Cemetery.

Word was received in Le Mars on Sunday of the death of Mrs. Sophia Dobbert, a well known resident of Stanton township, which occurred while she was visiting relatives in Los Angeles, Cal.

Mrs. Dobbert went to California last September to visit relatives. Her son August returned from there about two weeks ago and on his departure left his mother in apparently the best of health. Recently she suffered an attack of the grip, which left her in a weakened condition and death ensued.

She was 77 years of age and was a native of Germany. With her husband, who died a few years ago she came to Plymouth county and settled in Stanton township. over thirty years ago. They were among the most prosperous of the pioneers, and were always among the leaders for church and social uplift in the community.

She is survived by ten children three of who live in California, Hermann, Henry, August, John, Mrs. Miles Reints, Mrs. J. Brantetter, Mrs. D. Berner and Mrs. Jacob Schneider, of this country.

The remains will be accompanied from California by her son, Henry, and daughter, Mrs. Schauer, and the funeral will be held on Wednesday at the Stanton United Evangelical church at two o'clock, Rev. H. W. Kalas officiating.
