Note: Her maiden name is Ricklefs. Since she is buried in the Lutheran Preston Township Cemetery it is guessing her husband is also.

MRS. FRERICHS, 83, ANSWERS LAST CALL

Pioneer of This County Dies Of Pneumonia at Home of Daughter

Mrs. Anke Margaretta Frerichs, one of the oldest pioneers of this county died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Dick Krause, in Washington township, Tuesday morning. Pneumonia was the cause of her death.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the home and then from the Preston township Lutheran church. Rev. Theo. Meyer officiating. Burial will be made in the Preston township cemetery. Six grandsons will act as pallbearers.

Decease was the wife of Claus B. Frerichs, well known settler, who died three years ago.

Mrs. Frerichs was born in Germany on January 4, 1848, and came to America 63 years ago. At the time of her death she was 83 years of age. The family lived in Monticello, Iowa, for three years and was united in marriage there on November 25, 1869. After the wedding they moved to a homestead in Preston township where they farmed ever since. When Mr. Frerichs died deceased made her home with her daughter.

She leaves the following children to mourn her loss: Carl, Dick, Henry and Ricklef all of Akron; Mrs. Dick Kruse, Le Mars; Mrs. Herman Milbrodt, Akron and Mrs. Henry Nannen, Akron, besides 41 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Frerichs was one of the oldest settlers of this community and enjoyed the acquaintances of a host of friends. Her death is mourned by everyone that knew her as a loving wife and mother.
