Note: His mother's maiden name was Koenig. He is buried in the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in France.

Floyd S. Brehm Among Fallen Heroes In France

Former Soloist With Band In This Territory

Will Brehm and Ralph Brehm of Hinton were notified Tuesday night by the war department at Washington, D. C., that their brother, Floyd S. Brehm, was killed while in action in France, July 27. He was 37 years old.

Floyd Brehm enlisted in the infantry March 16, 1942, while he was living in Pasadena, Calif., and went overseas in May of this year just before the invasion of France.

Floyd Brehm was born in Plymouth county in April, 1907. He was a son of the late John Brehm, early settler in the Floyd Valley and county supervisor for many years. Floyd moved to California with his parents a number of years ago. He visited frequently at his old home n Melbourne after leaving here and was well known as a baritone singer, having appeared many times as a soloist with Monahan Post, American Legion band of Sioux City, and with the Le Mars municipal band and in the churches of Le Mars.

He is survived by his brothers, Will and Ralph, of the Melbourne community, and three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Osmundson, Mrs. Gladys Parsons and Mrs. Jeanette Minkler of Pasadena.
