Longtime Bob's Drive-In owner Robert Kass dead
Robert C. Kass, 66 longtime Le Mars resident and businessman, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday (Jan. 6, 1982). He had operated Bob's Drive-In on highway 75 since 1949.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic church in Le Mars. Rev. George Mc Fadden will officiate and burial will be in Calvary cemetery, Le Mars, under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral
home in Le Mars.Scripture service will be held at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kass was born Nov. 24, 1915, at Tindall, S.D.. to Louis and Margaret Schmidt Kass. He left Tindall at age 12 and has since lived in Le Mars.
Bob was a graduate of Le Mars high school. He was a member of St. James Catholic church and had served in the armed forces in World War 2. He was a member of the American Legion Wasmer post, Le Mars.
Claudine Eloise Rasar and Mr. Kass were married Nov. 20, 1941, at Alexandria, Va. She preceded him in death April 29, 1975.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors are five sons. Charles Kass, Buffalo, N.Y.; Douglas of Le Mars; Scott, Spencer; Mark of Okoboji and Myles, Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Claudia) Kalous, De Pere, Wis., and Charmaine Kass, Le Mars; six grandsons and six granddaughters; two brothers, Ed Kass, Le Mars, and Greg Kass, Sibley, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kniffen, Tindall, and Mrs. Katherine Klisart, Ossian, Iowa.
