Mrs. Clyde (Helen) Overman, 56, 435 First Ave. SW, died Monday about 6 a.m. at her home after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic church with Rev. John Turza officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.

Area nurses will hold a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home followed by the parish rosary at 8 p.m.

Mrs. Overman was director of the nursing at Brentwood Good Samaritan center for the last two years, retiring in April because of ill health. Prior to that she had been employed as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart hospital, now Floyd Valley hospital, for 24 years.

The former Helen E. Kliegl, she was born Oct. 19, 1913, at Emmetsburg, a daughter of the late Henry and Mabel (Demouth) Kliegl, She married Clyde Overman June 1, 1937, in Le Mars. She has lived in Le Mars since 1933.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

She was a member of St. James Catholic church, F. 0. E. auxiliary and legion auxiliary.

Survivors are her husband Clyde; six sons, Robert J. of Encinites, Calif., Dennis L. of Sante Fe, N.M., Clyde J., Paul H. and James F., all of Le Mars; five daughters, Mrs. Marlin (Maureen) Haack and Mrs. Roland (Barbara) Detloff, both of Le Mars, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) Olson of Sioux City, Mrs. James (Mary) Hall of Air Force academy, Colo., and Alice M. Overman of Le Mars; three brothers, Owen of Spencer, Warren of Emmetsburg and Vincent of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Tony (Irene) Lang of Storm Lake and nine grandchildren.
