Death of J. W. Zellers
Merrill Record John W. Zellers, a former well known citizen of Liberty township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Bennett, at Leeds, March 6th.
The funeral was held Sunday and his body was laid to rest in the Merrill cemetery beside that of his wife who preceded him to "That Better Land" only a few months ago.
John W. Zellers was born in Pennsylvania December 8, 1841. He lived to young manhood in Pennsylvania and then came to Nebraska. About seventeen years ago he moved to this county where he farmed until a few years ago. After leaving the farm he first moved to Hinton and later to Leeds.
He leaves to mourn his departure two sons and one daughter. The sons are W. W. Zeller, of Akron, and Geo. A. Zeller, of Leeds. The daughter is Mrs. Frank Bennett, also of Leeds. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. M. J. Wright, of Butte, Neb.
