P. F. Geary, Well Known Resident of Plymouth County, Passes Away

P. F. GEARY, a resident of Plymouth county for fifty-three years, died Thursday, May 18, at his farm home in Lincoln township at the age of 76 years and six months. Mr. GEARY has been in failing health for the past year and his condition became serious two weeks ago. Patrick Francis GEARY was a native of Iowa where he lived all his life and was born at Garryowen, November 12, 1856. He spent his boyhood days in his native place and was educated there in the schools and worked on a farm. Mr. GEARY came to LeMars fifty-three years ago and bought land in Lincoln township and followed the pursuit of farming in which he made a succes. Mr. Geary was married in 1883 to Miss Mary SULLIVAN, who died shortly after their marriage. He was united in marriage November 28, 1886, with Miss Alice COWAN. Mrs. GEARY passed away November 24, 1894, leaving her husband with a family of small children to whom he devoted his chief care. Mr. GEARY was a charter member of St. Joseph parish at Neptune. He was interested in township and community affairs and was widely known in the county. He lived in LeMars of late years, only recently returning to the farm. He had many friends and life long acquaintances. He leaves five children who are Patrick W. GEARY, of Leeds, Mary L. GEARY, John J. GEARY and Mrs. W. T. CAREL of LeMars, and Phil GEARY, of Hinton, and a brother, W. J. GEARY, of LeMars. There are thirteen grandchildren. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 in St. Joseph church in Lincoln township, Rev. Father Bernard KOEHER officiating, and interment made at Neptune.
