William “Pete” Sanow, 51, of Le Mars passed away suddenly Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Services will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church with Reverend Tim Geitz officiating. Family inurnment will be Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be after 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Elizabeth Pederson, Gracie Pederson, Avi Pederson, Jericho Pederson, Zachariah Pederson, Kailey Sanow, and Nolan Brewer.

William “Pete” Otto Sanow was born April 16, 1963 to Leslie and Eilene (Beach) Sanow. He attended school in Le Mars. As a young man, Pete worked for Heuertz Sanitation and continued to work in the industry for the next 30 years. In 2008, Pete accepted a position with Schuster Trucking driving locally. He was working for Schuster’s at the time of his death. Pete was an extremely hard working and loyal man.

Pete was united in marriage to Linda Worster on August 25, 1989 in Le Mars. They lived for several years in Struble and for the last years lived in Le Mars. Pete enjoyed horseback riding; especially his loyal friend “Spanky”. He also enjoyed his hunting dogs and waterfowl hunting with his friends Dave and Kevin. He loved nature and enjoyed the many gifts of being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years Linda of Le Mars; children: Jacob Brewer and his wife Stacey of Le Mars, Tiffany Sanow of Le Mars, Clynton Sanow of Merrill, and Scott Pederson of Le Mars; seven grandchildren and 2 more shortly; six brothers and sisters: Joan (Ken) Bruscher of Le Mars, Barbara (Keith) Nicks of Le Mars, Roberta (Dennis) Lundquist of Sioux City, James (Rebecca) Sanow of Cherokee, Connie (Richard) Lalk of Le Mars, and Tracy (Will) Lalk of Alton. He is also survived by his in-laws: Raymond Anderson of Lincoln, NE, Sherry Schellenburg of Scribner, NE, Bruce (Audra) Anderson of Lexington, NE, Zena (Randy) Von Hagel of Hawarden, Alicia Arens of Hawarden, and Gary (Billie) Worster of Beatrice, and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Eilene (Beach) Sanow; and two sisters, Suzanne Nicks and Bonnie Vander Wiede.
