Michael Joseph Gibbons, 85, 1017 Court street, Sioux City, a retired farmer and a resident of Sioux City twenty-seven years, died in a hospital Monday (April 6, 1942) evening after a long illness.

Mr. Gibbons was born January 25, 1857, at Beloit, Wis. He farmed near Kingsley before going to Sioux City.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Emil Haried and Mrs. Charles Lang, both of Sioux City, and Mrs. T. E. Duffy of Fairbanks, Iowa; three sons, Edward and Bernard, both of Sioux City, and Charles of Kingsley; four sisters, Sister Mary Omer of Dubuque, Sister Mary Monica of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Susan Hogan of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Ella Ferrell of Kalamazoo, Mich., and one brother, Omer Gibbons, of Oklahoma City, Okla.
