Alma B. Harms

Alma B. Harms, 90, rural Le Mars, died Thursday, April 25, 1991, at her home.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran church, rural Le Mars. Rev. Jack Hebard officiated. Burial was in Christ Lutheran church cemetery, under direction of Mauer-Johnson funeral home, Le Mars.

Mrs. Harms, the former Alma Witt, was born April 2, 1901, at Akron, Iowa, to Albert and Mary Stoehr Witt. She married John Harms, Oct. 1, 1925, in Akron. She was a lifelong Plymouth county resident except for 11 years in Brooking, S. D.

Mrs. Harms was a member of Christ Lutheran church, Women of the ELCA and Brunsville Garden club.

Survivors include her husband, John of Le Mars; two daughters, Glennes Dieterman and her husband, GErald of Merrill, and Shirley Brandt and her husband, Fritz of Lexington, Neb.; two sons, Marlin and his wife, Pauline of Le Mars, and Douglas and his wife, Rose of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother, Reinhold Witt of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by a son, Glen; three brothers, Henry, Albert, and Alfred, and two sisters, Minnie Reemts and Lorena Kallsen.
