Mrs. Renhold (Leona) Witt
Mrs. Reinhold (Leona) Witt, 66, Akron, died Sunday (March 4, 1984) in a Sioux City hospital of a long illness.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7 in Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Richard Hillrichs, sosoist, san "Just A Closer Walk With The" and "How Great Thou Art". Organist was Sherlyn Hillrichs. The congretation san "What A Fridnd We Have In Jesus".
Burial was in Riverside cemetery under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home. A prayer service was held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.Pallbearers were Donald Beeck, Maynard Mammen, Larry Miller, Marlin Harms, Robert Witt, and John Luschen, Jr.
Mrs. Witt the former Leona Helen Frerichs, was born June 14, 1917, to Earnest and Minnie Meinen Frerichs in Preston township, rural Akron. She married Reinhold Witt, June 14, 1944, at St. John's Lutheran church, Preston township, rural Akron. They farmed in the Akron area their entire married life, retiring in 1972 and moving into Akron in 1979.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Akron and the ALCW.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Sharon) Monckton of Sioux City, and Mrs. Harold (Sandra) Pearson of Akron; one son, Allan of Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (EstherK) Beeck, Mrs. Ed (mildred) Drake and Mrs. Fred (Arlene) Bloom, all of Le Mars; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
