OBITUARY
Mrs. Lavina Rust passed away at her home in Akron, Ia., of heart disease, Thrusday morning, November 23, 1911, aged 72 years and 7 months.
Lavina Heath was born in Erie county, Pennsylvania, in April, 1839. Her mother died when she was a child and she was adopted by a Mr. Beamer. At the age of about fourteen years, by common consent, she came to Iowa with an uncle, Sylvanus Heath. Here she became acquainted with Franklin Rust and they were married at Independence, Iowa, October 24, 1855.
To this union were born eight daughters and four sons, two daughters dying when children. The children surviving are; Mrs. Emma Trambauer, of Saint Charles, Iowa; Mrs. Ella Caldwell, of Chicago; Mrs. anna McArdle, of Spencer, Ia.; Mrs. Marletta Farwell, of Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. Belle Talbott, of Aberdeen, S. D.; Frank, William, Edison and Wallace.
Mr. and mrs. Rust moved to Akron in September, 1908, where he passed away June 21, 1910. In their early married life this worthy couple united with the United Brethren church, but later joined the Methodist Episcopal church, of which she ramined a faithful, consistent member until November 23rd, 1911, when, by her last words, "Oh, my Savior," she answered the call to the Church Triumphant on high. A devoted wife, a kind and loving mother, a helpful and sympathetic friend and neighbor, her memory will be revered and cherished by all who knew her.
The funeral services, conducted by Rev. R. L. Stuart in the Akron M. E. Church Saturday afternoon, were largely attended. Interment in Riverside cemetery, beside the husband.
Relatives coming from a distance: Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Trumbauer, of St. Charles, Ia; Mrs. Farwell and daughter, Miss Frances, of Sioux City; Mrs. John McArdle of daughter, Mrs. Doty, of Spencer, Iowa; Frank Rust, of Ponca, Neb. One son, William, of Fargo, N. D., arrived a day late for the funeral.Akron Register Tribune
