Note: According to her husband's obituary her first name is Bertha and her maiden name is Lauchatadt. Gravestone has birth of year as 1859.

Mrs. Wm. Kiewel, a resident of Akron and vicinity for many years, passed away at her home in this city Monday evening, January 29, 1925, after an illness of only five days, of plural pneumonia.

Mrs. Kiewel was down town on Wednesday of last week and contracted a cold, from which pleurisy resulted, and on Friday pneumonia developed. A trained nurse was called to care for her and the best medical skill employed but all without avail.

The bereaved husband and several children have the sympathy of the community.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. A. Meske Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran church. Tow sons. Wm. Kiewel, from Montevideo, Minn., and Rudolf Kiewel, from Moscow, Idaho, arrived to attend the funeral, and a daughter, Mrs. Curtis Streeter, from Kansas City.
