DEATH OF OLD RESIDENT
Mrs. Blanke Lived in Akron Vicinity for Many Years
Akron Register: The remains of Mrs. Christina Blanke, who died September 18, 1922, at her home at Roy, near Tacoma, Wash., arrived here Saturday for burial. She has been practically blind for several years and her death was the result of paralysis at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 23 days.
Christina Jammerthal was born in Hochstetter, Baden, Germany, and came to this country with her parents when eighteen years of age. They located on a homestead in Buena Vista county, Iowa, where she married Mr. Blanke at the age of 19 years.
Mr. and mrs. Blanke located on a farm a few miles southeast of Akron in 1889, and in 1895 Mr. Blanke passed away there. Mrs. Blanke came to Akron in 1889, and in 1895 Mr. Blanke passed away there. Mrs. Blanke came to Akron to reside eleven years ago and four years ago went to live with her sister, Mrs. W. E. Hughes, at Roy, Washington.
Three brothers and one sister are left to mour her demise—August Jammerthal, of Akron; Charles Jammerthal, of Roy, Wash; Leo Jammerthal, of Ashland, Oregon, and Mrs. W. E. Hughes, of Roy, Wash. Mrs. Blanke was a woman of helpful and generous nature, a kind friend and neighbor.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carl Hammer in the Akron M. E. church Sunday afternoon, with quite a number of old-time friends present to pay a last tribute of respect. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, beside her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Hughes came from Roy, Wash., with the remains of their sister.
