August Hein died Saturday morning, November 28, 1908, at the home of his son, Gust., on the Dierksen place northeast of town, aged 75 years, of pleurisy and complications.
Nine children survive.
The funeral was held Wednesday and interment made in Le Mars beside his wife.
Deceased lived in this vicinity many years and was well known.

Akron, IowaAugust Hein, who has been sick for several months, passed to his reward on Saturday morning, Nov. 28th. All that human hearts and hands could suggest was done to try to relieve the one who was suffering such intense pain. Those who have stood for months by the side of loved one as hope after hope dropped away as petals fall from a fading flower know that such The anguish cannot solace in the tenderest words. The wife and children with a devotion that few are capable of, whose strength was given sweetly and tenderly to his comforts, whose heroic devotion never faltered, could not detain him by the clasp of earthly love and the spark of life took its flight.
August Hein was well and favorable known throughout Plymouth county, where he has resided for many years. He was a veterinary surgeon.
Years ago he was called upon to lose his faithful helpmate and was then left to battle through these earthly troubles with a family of small children. After some years he was married to Mrs. Folka Lueschen, who with eight children and nine step-children and a number of grandchildren, are left to mourn his departure.
The funeral was held on Wednesday at Le mars and the remains were laid to rest beside those of his first wife.
