MRS. LOUIS KAELKE CALLED BY DEATH

Rites For Esteemed Akron Woman Held Wednesday Afternoon

Mrs. Louis Kaelke, a life-long resident of this community, passed away Sunday, June 19, 1949, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cummins Nursing Home in Sioux City. She had been in failing health for the past fifteen months. Her age was 62 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

Lizzie Jammerthal, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Jammerthal, was born at Akron, July 6, 1886. October 11, 1905, she was married to Louis Kaelke, of Akron. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Ronell, of Elk Point, S. D.; Mrs. Myrtle Larson, of Sioux City, and Mrs. Dorothy Beutin, of Oak Park, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. kaelke farmed near here for a number years and later moved to town. Besides her husband and three daughters she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Sarah Chambers, and two brothers, Wm. and Harold Jammerthal, all of Akron; also by five grandchildren and 22 nieces nephews.

One brother, Herman, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kaelke was a devoted wife and mother. She was a loyal member of the Methodist church, and her sincere Christian faith was reflected during her long period of illness by her patience and sunny disposition.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m., in the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Orville N. Nelson. Hymns were sung by a quartet, H. J. Behmer, Karl Silkebakken, J. R. Shoulberg and Harry B. Nelson.

Pallbearers were six nephews, Leo, Marvin and Roy Kaelke, and Floyd Kaelke and Floyd, Fay and Marlow Waterbury. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Beutin came from Oak Park, Ill., to attend the funeral of her mother.
