HARRY G. WIMER LAST RITES HELD AT SIOUX CITY
PERRY CENTER - Special: Funeral services for Harry G. Wimer, 72, a former Perry Center resident, were held Oct. 28 at the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
Rev. Oscar Rees, chaplain of the Methodist hospital, officiated and burial was in Graceland Park cemetery.Mr. Wimer died Oct. 26 at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
He was born June 3, 1893, in Brockton, 111. As a child he moved to Oakland, 111., and when he was 19, moved to Sioux City. He had lived in Sioux City, Bronson, Lawton and Perry Center.
His marriage to Alice Wingert took place in 1920 in Sioux City. Mrs. Wimer died in 1952.
Survivors are his daughters, Mrs. Robert Norvell of Cudahy, Calif., and Mrs. Harlan Emerson of Vermillion; three sons, James of West Point, Neb., Harry and Wayne of Sioux City; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Padgett of Sioux City, Mrs. Dora Swinford of Oakland, 111., and Mrs. Gertrude McGranahan of Ann Arbor, Mich. and 18 grandchildren.
