From the Monday, March 12, 1956 Le Mars Globe-Post:

Mrs. Anna Helena Tammen, lifelong resident of the Struble community, passed away on March 11, 1956 at the Community hospital in Hawarden. She had been a patient there for three weeks. Mrs. Tammen took sick on January 11, 1956.

Anna H. Ludwigs was born July 23, 1883 in Grant Township, Plymouth county. She was married October 19, 1905 in Grant Township to Tony Tammen.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 1956 at 2:00 p. m. at St. John's American Lutheran, church in Craig. Rev. Donald A. Schmidt will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Clara, at home; five sons, John of Craig, Henry of Ireton, Edward of Dell Rapids, S. D., George and Elmer of Struble and 9 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Lena) Miniets of Akron; 4 brothers. William of Le Mars; Gerd of Chatsworth, and Henry and Eilert of Craig.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, in 1948; two sisters, and 2 brothers.

The remains will be taken to the Tammen home on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased was a member of St. John's American Lutheran church in Craig.

Poster's note: According to the 1925 Iowa census, Anna (Ludwigs) Tammen was the daughter of Anna (Hartmann) and Henry Ludwigs.
